Message If anything, that is *more* relevant to the conversation than other motors having ported oil pumps being shown to be better than stock.

BUT, the fact that other motors are *shown* to see benefits from ported pumps is again the key. It is proven. In other words, there is at least *some* info out there comparing the two. There is *none* for the VG. Which again, is the point.

Why is there no ported pump from a major company out there for the VG? Maybe because the stock pump was tested/proven to be perfect for the application (in case it's not obvious, I am not saying it is perfect)? Who knows.

Again, the complete lack of info on the subject is the focal point. You can't deny there is *no* info out there. You are comfortable with it. I'm sure there's a lot of others that are as well (Mitch says 50+ people are). Awesome. But the majority of people are not because there is just flat out no info on them. Personal issues with the guy/company (read: Mitch) or not, if there is *proven* info saying his pumps are an improvement over stock, I guaranty he would sell a bunch of them.

If you want to bring other cars into the conversation, I'll bring up a good one. And it involves oil pumps too. There is a guy in the Miata community that makes a bunch of stuff. Most of it is garbage, and everyone knows it. Then he came to market billet oil pump gears (and ported housings). Naturally people were excited as could be since Miata oil pump gears literally explode at certain power levels. But everyone was wary at first because of dude's track record. So what did he do? Tested the shit out of them and recorded all the results. He posted all the results and people ate them up. But before he showed all the testing, there were only a handful of people that were comfortable enough to give them a shot.

Mitch isn't that far from me. I am not far from TMS, a few different auto-x spots, or from ECR. Hell, MSR and a few other tracks are well within reasonable distances. If Mitch strapped up some test equipment and did some comparisons, I bet he'd get a LOT less "hate" over his pumps.
